His passion was opera; he adored everything related to it, the young ladies of the ballet, the smell of the theatre, the sound of strings. A singer himself, a great maestro & a composer, he watched all his plays being performed all over the world in famous theaters.
During his journeys he was always looking for new sounds to add to his masterpieces.
All we know is that once on a rainy or a sunny day he flew to New Orleans.
Fascinated by the savage rhythms of the Negro slaves, he orchestrated his new operas with a new kind of music, what he called a mysterious discovery,
Jazz.
